When images came in of the huge number of Ukrainian refugees, many of them children, we felt we could and should do our part to help. Refugee children have left all their belongings behind and are confronted with violence and war at a much too young age.
We hoped that we could give some of these children, even in this miserable time, a feeling of being a child again, if only to forget for a moment the misery of reality.
With this in mind, we set up a large toy collection campaign in cooperation with several schools in the Amsterdam area. We collected a bus full of games, sports equipment, cuddly toys and much more and transported them to shelters in Poland where many Ukrainian children were staying at that time.
In particular, we would like to thank the children and teachers of the Boekman school, Apollo Basketball and the Gooiland school for their hard work on this initiative. You are fantastic!
